Natural Touch: A Gentle Touch Training for Doulas and Palliative Care Professionals is a 7-module, online course designed to prepare you to offer gentle touch in a safe, ethical, and deeply compassionate way to those experiencing serious illness or nearing the end of life.

In partnership with Tracy Chalmers of Endwell Northshore, I am so pleased to offer this gentle touch training.

The course is self-paced, with 12 months of ongoing support from Tracy and I via an online community forum and monthly Zoom office hours. We estimate each module will take you 2-5 hours to complete, including reflection exercises and hands-on practice.

Natural Touch Training

For sessions in Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Burnaby.

Gentle touch provided in the comfort of your own home or care home, to reduce physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering that often accompanies life-limiting conditions and life's later years.

We will work where you are most comfortable, in your hospital bed, wheelchair, or a reclining chair. Treatment can be provided through comfortable clothing, so getting undressed is optional. 

Sessions include a check in (with you, and/or your substitute decision maker) to determine your needs and to ensure informed consent is maintained throughout our time together. I may suggest after-treatment care that you (or your caregivers) can do for your continued comfort.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist, and can direct bill to several extended health plans. Please note, I can bring a portable reclining chair (very comfortable) if needed. 

A sliding scale rate is available for people on MSP premium assistance who don't have extended health benefits.

Mobile Palliative and Elders Massage (RMT)

Sessions may be helpful if you are experiencing

- grief, anxiety, depression, or other overwhelming emotions 
- fears about death or dying
- unresolved conflicts or hurts
- the challenges of caregiving
- finding your renewed purpose after a loss

Trauma-informed support for grief care, caregiver support, and/or to move towards peace.

Please book a 'Home Visit' for me to come to your home, care home, hospital, or hospice.

Individual Doula Session

Using a combination of discussion in the full group and triads, guided meditation, and real world examples, you will come away from this workshop with a holistic overview of how to prepare yourself (or a loved one) - practically, emotionally, spiritually - to have the most ease and grace possible during the end-of-life phase. You will leave the workshop with practical ‘next steps’ you can take to:

- complete medical-legal documents
- tend to 'unresolved business,' and
- create your own holistic end-of-life care plan.

An optional group follow-up session is available for completing the ‘next steps.’

All participants of the initial workshop will receive 15% off up to four (4) 1-1 private doula sessions with me over the following six (6) month period, for further support in completing the above mentioned ‘next steps.’
